Anomaly Four

Yes, I know, I’ve been neglecting Anomalous just as much as I’ve been neglecting the record that I’m not recording. To fix that, I recorded the second “doodle” in the Anomalous project tonight, confusingly titled “Anomaly Four.” The name comes from the fact that it was probably the fourth song I wrote that will be included in the project.

“Anomaly Four” is by far my favorite of the doodles, though I can’t say if it’s the best. Like “Anomaly One”, it’s written for nylon string guitar. It really differs in feel though. This one is at times darker, at times more hopeful. Like a couple of other tracks that will be part of Anomalous, you can hear me experimenting with unusual, slightly complex chord shapes and progressions, but I think this one succeeds particularly well at being both musical and unusual. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet figured out how to make it a song.

Anyway, give it a listen. Hope you like it.
